(The man <em>who<\/em> is standing there, is his father.)<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">\u2018Wat\u2019 can have an antecedent that\u2019s a sentence: In that case you can replace it by \u2018en dat\u2019:<em>\n<\/em>Het feest is afgelast, wat me tegen valt. \u00e0 Het feest is afgelast en dat valt me tegen. (The party has been canceled, which is quite a bummer.)<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><em>\u2018Wie\u2019<\/em> \u00a0and \u00a0\u2018<em>wat\u2019 <\/em>\u00a0can have a have a so-called invisible antecedent: in this case you can replace wie\/wat by <em>de man die\/het ding dat: <\/em>Wie dat zegt, geloof ik niet.<em> &#8211; De man die <\/em>dat zegt, geloof ik niet. (I don\u2019t beleive whoever\/the man who says this).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><strong>Indefinite pronouns<\/strong> are words such as <em>men (\u2018they\u2019), (n)iemand (nobody\/somebody), (n)iets (nothing\/something), ieder(een) (every(body)), alles (everything), elk (every),wat (what), enig(e) (some), het een of ander (one or another).<\/em><\/span>\n\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Notes:<\/span>\n<ul>\n \t<li><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><em>\u2018<strong>Het<\/strong>\u2019 <\/em>can be an article, personal pronoun or indefenite pronoun.<\/span>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><em>het<\/em> the article: belongs to a noun: het meisje \/ the girl<\/span>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><em>het<\/em> the personal pronoun: refers to something that has been or is yet to come: \u00a0<em>Het<\/em> lijkt me logisch <em>dat hij dat doet. (It seems logical to me that he does that.)\nHet <\/em>the indefinite pronoun is a sentence element on its own:<em> Het <\/em>vriest (It\u2019s freezing)<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">\u2018Het the indefinite pronoun\u2019 can be replaced by \u2018iets\u2019 (something) or \u2018een beetje\u2019 (a little): Wil je <em>wat<\/em> voor mij doen? &#8211; Wit je<em> iets <\/em>voor mij doen?
